Community Kitchen Volunteer Needed
The Community Kitchen Needs Your Help! We are in need of a volunteer to pick up food from Food Lion on Mondays. If you can help, please contact the church office at 704-739-2471 or central@cumckm.org.
Welcome to Central United Methodist Church. Since 1874, people have entered this place of worship, felt the warmth of a Christian community, and sensed the empowering presence of a holy and loving God. By no means are we a perfect community of disciples but we strive to live a life in relationship with Jesus Christ.
We hope you’ll find us to be an encouraging and friendly family of Jesus Christ. Central is an enriching church community. Our mission is to “Live and Love as Christ.” This means that we not only serve God within the church walls but we also desire to serve God outside of the church walls. We invite everyone to experience the love and grace of our Almighty God.
The United Methodist Church is made up of connectional disciples with open hearts, open minds, and open doors in order to help transform the world. We would like to have the opportunity to get to know you and have you get to know us. I hope to meet you soon!

We have nurseries available for children four-years-old and younger. We have paid nursery workers and our church members rotate responsibilities in the nursery. Childcare is available for both the Praise & Worship & Traditional services.
When is communion?
We celebrate communion on the First Sunday of the month in the Traditional 10:50 am service and all are welcome to participate.
What to Wear?
Be comfortable. If you’re in jeans, that’s fine; if you prefer to dress up, that’s fine too.
Where to Park?
The church main parking lot is to the left of the church’s Christian Activities Center Building(CAC). Additional Parallel parking is available in front of the church.
How Accessible are you?
We have ADA compliant restrooms and space for wheelchairs in the building. Large-print bulletins are available at each worship service. Our services are recorded online, usually available mid-week, and our pastor is happy to provide copies of sermons upon request.
What about the Kids?
There’s a staffed nursery for children up through age 4. The Nursery is made available to members and visitors during both the early and late service including the Sunday School hour.
What do I say or do?
We do our best to make sure the Sunday bulletin explains what we’re doing in worship. Let us know if we’ve missed something that would have helped. We are a very friendly bunch and someone will greet you but there’s no pressure for you to introduce yourself.
Giving to the church?
Our members pledge to support the church financially. If visitors want to contribute, that’s great, but especially on your first visit, you’re our guest. No pressure!

Dear Church family, I am so excited to send this email to you. At Central, we are always looking for ways to draw closer to God and each other. With this new resource, we are taking steps to enhance that process. By now you should have received an email inviting you to RightNow Media. After you have set up your free account you will be able to search through the vast library of resources available. These range from topics such as Bible studies, devotionals, apologetic, marriage, parenting, and many many more. Please take advantage of this wonderful opportunity as much as you can. One of the features that I am most excited about is the ability for anyone to find a resource and share it with others. Because of this, we will be adopting this into our congregational-wide Sunday school. Below you will find a link to the study we will be using for the...
We are thrilled to partner with RightNow Media (RNM), an online, user-friendly library for individuals in every age and stage of life. This is a program that offers unlimited access to thousands of Christian videos. And the great thing about it is that it’s free to members of the Central Church Family!
