Sing to him a new song; play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts. – Psalm 33:3

Music & Arts

At Central Methodist Church, there are many ways to celebrate faith through music and the arts. Opportunities exist for people of all ages and for people with varying levels of musical training and artistic abilities. The Worship, Music and Arts Ministry includes volunteers who are passionate about and skilled in drama and liturgy, decorating, the visual arts, and music.

Music Ministries

The Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir is for any adult who loves to worship Jesus Christ through the gift of singing. The Chancel Choir participates at the 10:00 am worship service and other services throughout the year. Typically, the Chancel Choir gives two concerts a year as well. This ensemble rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7 – 8:30 pm.

Handbells

If you have never played the bells and would like to learn, Joyful Ringers is the place to start. Joyful Ringers is our Beginner Bells group. They meet to rehearse on Mondays at 5:45 pm and always love to have additional bell ringers. They generally go on hiatus for June, July, and August and resume regular rehearsals in September.

Contemporary Music Program

Our Contemporary Music Program is always looking to grow. Our team is comprised of nothing but church volunteers. If you have the gift of playing a string instrument, keyboards, or drums we would love for you to come join us. If you have the gift of singing or even want to “develop” the gift, we have a place on stage for you. You can come to take the journey with us as we rehearse weekly on Wednesdays at 6pm in the Church’s Sanctuary.

Central Youth Chorale

The Youth Chorale is open to 6th-12th graders and will meet weekly in the choir room.

The Bells of Praise

The Bells of Praise, play for special services planned throughout the calendar church year. These bell ringers are our more experienced group. Rehearsal is seasonal on Wednesdays at 6pm. Call the church office for details!
