Central United Methodist Church has the distinct privilege of sponsoring The Boy Scouts of America Troop 92.
The troop has a long and proud history. Originally formed in 1935 as Troop 6, it has had several stops & starts. 1985 was its newest beginning, at the First Baptist Church of Kings Mountain where it resided for many years.
In January 2016, 2 troops merged to form a bigger, better Troop 92 and it became sponsored by Central Methodist Church of Kings Mountain.
The Troop 92 leadership follows the evangelical Christian beliefs of its sponsoring organization, Central United Methodist Church. All adult leaders and volunteers are expected to demonstrate behavior consistent with these values.
Troop 92 operates by the Patrol Method. Patrols are led by the Patrol Leader, who was elected by their group. The troop also elects a Senior Patrol Leader. These boy leaders make up the Patrol Leaders Council, who are responsible for planning & executing all troop meetings, campouts, trips & Courts of Honor.
If you are a boy between the ages of 11 to 18, the Troop is always looking to grow its membership. Please consider joining us!
We meet each Monday night from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm at Central United Methodist Church.
